Runner’s Butt Fairy

Jumping right into the deep end:

Workout: 5×800 (RI: 400) GP: 4:29

Results: Done and done, courtesy of my free membership to the gym of “There’s a Treadmill in Mom and Dad’s Garage”. It’s great. There’s no pool, but there’s never a wait for the cardio machine.

Workout: 10 minutes easy, [1 minute hard, 4 minutes easy] 6 times. <–Done on my trainer with my race bike. I thought about doing it on my new pink cruiser, but at the last minute decided against it.

Results: Again, done and done! Trainer workouts are a lot less sweaty with you have a ginormous pedestal fan blowing on you!

Moving on.

Not my ass, but I definitely wish it was!

Because my Reach the Beach teammates so very awesome, they have lined up a ridiculous amount of sponsors for us. I can’t wait to try out all my free swag! The first thing I’ve tried is a pair of Aspaeris pivot shorts. When I opened the packed I was all “oh shit, there’s no way those are going to fit me!”. The things looks tiny. But, lo and behold, I was definitely able to put them on. It did take a bit of tugging and pulling, but certainly no more than putting on compression socks. They were a good bit longer than the booty shorts I wear a lot in the summer, but fortunately they weren’t so long that I got flash backs to gymnastics practice in the 90′s when we wore our “biker shorts” to our knees.

They were super comfy for my treadmill workout – I could definitely feel the compression in the thighs, which I would assume would be nice at the end of a long run. My one an only suggestion for the company would be maybe make the shorts a bit higher at the back of the waist. I felt like it dipped a bit low for my taste. Of course, it may have been that I grew a tremendously awesome runner’s butt over night, but alas, I don’t think that was it. The Runner’s-Butt Fairy takes alternate Tuesdays off so the chances were quite slim that she made it to my room.

So anywho.  Two thumbs up!

    Great job on your workouts, one of the next things that Mike and I need is a bike trainer.
